Why the pronunciation of English words are so different from its spelling? Why can’t most of the English spelling be spelled as it is seen? Is there actual need of any pronunciation rule for this language?  Really, this is big difficulties for those who don’t have much more idea about English more than ABCD.  Many other language just like Marathi, Hindi etc in India, have no such kind of confusion. Anyone can read Marathi / Hindi words just by identifying its alphabets-structure.  Such thing doesn’t happen in English language.

There are different kinds of pronunciation rules which are taught in advanced level training of spoken English which leave so many beginners in confusion whether to speak particular word like this or like that? In short, in English language, one single word can be pronounced by two to three different ways.  For eg. Circus is spelled as (), Public, push, Hero Hell, Box Ball, Door Poor, Little, Label etc.  Why one particular alphabet is not there for specific kind of pronunciation in this language?

sIn such way, learning English language is too much hard in its initial stage just because of confusion creating pronunciation of its words.

English Speaking Course is simply English Speaking Course everywhere all the time. It is for teaching students to speak in English. If it works same, than what is the need to give so many names to these courses. Some says it General English Course, some says Intensive English Course, some says it Basic English Course and so on…  Are these totally complete courses to learn to speak English individually?

General English Speaking Course will teach to speak English generally. About this type of course one question is there. Without Basic or Advance grammar, how will this course teach English? If Intensive (In-depth English) or Conversational English will not be taught in this course, than how can such course will teach to speak English generally.

Conversational English Speaking Course will enable to make conversation in English. Without Basic / Advance Course or Intensive Course, will it be possible to keep continue conversation in English just like any other regional language.

What is exact definition of Basic as well as Advanced English Speaking Course? Where does it start and where does it end? What is included and what is not in these courses?

Doesn’t Business or Corporate English Speaking Course require any support from Intensive / Conversational English Course, Basic / Advanced English Course?

As per SureEnglish study, such kind of variety of names may have given to courses by different institutes or authors as per their contents of course materials.

By explaining this, SureEnglish want to bring this unknown thing before you all. All these types of courses may be looking different, but internally they are connected and depended on one another. Actually material is same but names are different.

Today, while learning English, student have to face so many problems. There is huge difference between the education of English language & any other subject.  Learning English is very tough not only because of its complicated grammar, but so many other hidden issues are also there which are not imaginable. Let’s see all these here.

Major problem is difference between the spelling structure & its pronunciation.  It is explained exclusively in our other blog.

Second issue is different educational background of students. Some have completed 8th, some have 10th , some have 12th or graduation. Therefore more educated student understands first & less educated understand very late.

Third issues is grasping power of every students are not same. Therefore students with good grasping power understand fast against to them students with weak grasping power understand very slowly.

Next issue is some of the students have taken education from City-side or some of them from rural area. Therefore there is huge difference between quality of their education.

Last issue is parents of some students knows English well, therefore they also help to sort out their child English speaking related queries. But those student whose parents cannot support them while learning English, cannot learn fast like other students.

As per study conducted by SureEnglish about why English Language is harder to read & understand than any other Indian language, the few things come in the view like these.

Around 30%  to 40%  words pronunciation & spelling structure matching with each other are as per grammar rules of vowel & consonant like Mix, Pen, Sit, Meet, Let, Book, Long, Send, etc.

Around 20% to 30% words pronunciation are with silent letter which is not easy to guess how to spell that particular word, e.g. doubt, knife, wrong, Watch, etc.

Around 30% to 40% words pronunciation are different from its spelling structure like Little, More, Table, Dry,  Peon, Door, Ball, etc.

Around 20% to 30% words pronunciations are same, but spelling structures are different like Sell-sale-cell, Tale-Tell-Tail, fare-fair, fail-fell, peel-pill, heel-hill, sole-soul, etc.

Around 10% to 20% words pronunciations are different but spelling are same like wind (), Bear(), Tear(), Live (),  etc.

Along with this, Indian people have a habit of pronounce the English words as per Barakhadi of Indian language alphabets. Therefore they get wrong while pronouncing the English words as per Barakhadi of Indian language.

In addition to this confusion, in English language there is no any kind of separate pronoun for showing respect. In Indian language, there is pronoun for showing respect to elders, father, husband, etc. In English language, pronouns are divided only on the basis of first person, second person, third person, singular & plural, but not for for giving respect to respectable near & dear, just like in Indian Language.

On single time, teaching all students with different backgrounds to Speak English is nearby impossible by Group Training

SureEnglish has observed one thing carefully that on one single time, how can student with different educational background, different grasping power be taught under one roof.  Because in India, Everybody has some knowledge of English. Everybody get lessons of English right from 1st standard.  In a batch there are so many students having completed their10th to graduation, diploma or degree.  Graduate students will definitely have more English language knowledge than students of 10th.  In the same way, students from city side will definitely have perfect English knowledge than students of village side.  Student having good grasping power will learn fast than student with less grasping power.

If such kind of variation among student is there in every batch, than how can such students be taught by group training.  In Group Training, those students who have good educational background, good grasping power can learn easily. But what about  those who are from village-side, have no educational background and have weak grasping power.  In group training, they may not get easily whatever taught on board or orally. Such student prefers to remain silent even if they don’t get anything because of fear that other students may laugh at him.  Like this, in group training, such weak student may go empty handed.

Group Discussion in English may be reason for loosing self-confidence of students who are not-so-well in English

Group Discussion in English requires every participant to speak only in English language. Those who has good educational background with good spoken English ability, can speak well, explain everything perfectly in English. But what about those who has not well educational background and have joined class for learning spoken English just three-four month before. In this short period, can such students be able to speak in English in Group Discussion?

In Group Discussion, such students only keep on listening others whatever is possible, but speak very little in English because of fear. Hardly two or three routine words or routine sentences come out of their mouth. They feel pressure while reminding different types of words, related grammar. Even though they made sentence in English, they fear about whether they have made it right or wrong?  With such fear, there is lot of chances of losing the hopes.

Such students compare themselves with those who speak in English.  By seeing them speaking in English, they keep on thinking whether they will be able to speak like this or not;   when will they be able to speak like this.

If Group Discussion is affecting to such kind of weak students silently, is it really useful…?
